Boys golf: Eastview’s Petrulo ties for state title

After a brilliant first round at the Class AA state boys golf tournament, Eastview’s Joe Petrulo tied for a state title on Wednesday.
Petrulo posted a two-day total of 148 to match Forest Lake’s Paul Moberg at Bunker Hills Golf Course in Coon Rapids.
Petrulo led after day one, shooting a 71. His day two score of 77 was good enough to keep him in the lead.
His finish helped his team place fourth overall with 624, which was 18 strokes behind the winner Wayzata.
Chris Kotosky was next for Eastview placing 32nd with 157. Max Tylke
tied for 46th shooting 162 and Kyle Nesheim carded 164, which was good
enough for 57th.
Sam Christian came in 57th and Drew Bjordal 82nd.
Panthers hold strong
The Lakeville North boys team placed sixth at state nine strokes behind Eastview.
Adam Petterson had the best outing by completing the four sets of nine
holes in less than 40 strokes. He finished in 17th place with 154.
PJ Ganske was three strokes behind him yet finished in 32nd. Freddy Thomas took 42nd and Brady Skjei placed 57th.
Other area finishers
Sam Reber from Rosemount tied with Ganski at 32nd. Eagan’s Charlie Heidrick placed 46th, carding 162.
