Junior Alexia Rains and sophomore Terra Klima represented Farmington in the final round of the Section 1AA girls golf tournament played Tuesday, May 26 at Cannon Falls Golf Club.

Klima shot 100 in the opening round and then carded 106 over the final 18 holes to finish at 206.  Rains turned in a round of 95 in the first round but struggled in the second with a 114 to finish the tournament at 209.

Freshman Paige Steele opened with a round of 102 and also qualified for the championship round but was unable to play because of a school-related conflict.

“Both Alexia and Terra had a couple of holes they would have liked to do over in the first round,” coach Shawn Anderson said, “but they finished in the top 12 individuals on the teams that didn’t advance to the second round.

“Day two didn’t go as well, but I think they knew their chances of going to state were pretty remote. It was good to get three players to the second round.”
