The Apple Valley boys soccer team have achieved perfection.

The Eagles won their eighth state title and capped off a 24-0-0 record Thursday at the Metrodome in Minneapolis in the Class AA final.

Zoo volunteers form friendships to last a lifetime

Every day is a party in the conference room on the third floor at the Minnesota Zoo’s main offices when groups of volunteers gather.

But on this day, Nov. 3, there was birthday cake.

Andy Anderson and Floyd Lewellen were celebrated, not only as longtime zoo volunteers, but as the organization’s oldest volunteers, 90 and 100 respectively. Each has a Nov. 7 birthday.
