Storm Kick Off Season at Twin Invite
The South Metro Storm kicked off its spring/summer 2010 schedule by attending the Twin Invite on May 8-9 at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center.
The Storm have much to look forward to this session after coming off their highest overall team finish during the Fall/Winter session.
“I’m very optimistic about the kids in the pool this session,” said head coach Phil Smith. “They have come ready to work to better themselves, and I’m very pleased by their efforts and results.”
The Storm set 24 new team records at the meet, which was a combined age group format. The following individuals placed in the overall Top 16 for the Storm: (TR) = Age Group Team Records
Girls combined ages:
50 meter freestyle: Taylor Dessler – 15th place
400 meter freestyle: Taylor Dessler – 12th place
1500 meter freestyle: Kirsten Totino – 11th place
50 meter breaststroke: Brianna Alexander – 10th place (TR)
100 meter breaststroke: Brianna Alexander – 13th place (TR)
200 meter breaststroke: Brianna Alexander – 11th place (TR)
50 meter butterfly: Katie Nadeau – third place (TR)
100 meter butterfly: Katie Nadeau – fifth place (TR)
200 meter IM: Brianna Alexander – seventh place and Katie Nadeau – 14th place
